I don't know of any UK based modeling agencies, but a good route to take is to join a couple of modeling social networks. Model Mayhem, models.com and Model Launch are three really good ones, but there are more...

You can go into the forum and discuss these things with other models. They can also alert you to scams and let you know the reputable agencies.

Im 16 and my agency wants to send me to tokyo for 3 months, and if anyone knows anything about the asian fashion market or has any personal experience that would great :)

Most of the models working for the big Tokyo agencies like Donna, Bravo, Yoshie, etc are foreign models. If your agency is sending you, then its definitely legit. Make sure they are providing your housing and that there is a chaperone living in the model apartment with you, understand any expenses you will be expected to pay out of pocket and what the agency will cover before you go, understand the commission structure (you'll probably be paying commission not only to the Japanese agency but also to your mother agency back home), what sort of repatriation agreement they have (will they fly you home if things don't work out or do you have to pay by yourself).

The problem is when foreign girls accept jobs from agencies over the internet that they know nothing about, and end up being kept prisoner in illegal brothels.
