Is this okay to send to my husband at Basic Training? So I'm putting together a care package for my husband. He's at Ft. Jackson for basic. I was thinking pretty much anything they're allowed to bring with them they can have, but he's sick, and I know everyone else there is sick, and I just wanted to see if you guys thought that there was anything in here I really shouldn't send. I'm sending extra everything so hopefully he can share with people there. Here's a list of what I'm putting in the box:
2 big envelopes so he can send me home some of his older letters and stuff if he runs out of room
1 box of plain white envelopes
1 7x5iral bound notebook so he has some more lined paper to write me with
A few books of stams so he can share with his buddies
2 packages of 10 mechnaical pencils
2 packages of 10 ink pens, one blue, one black
2 chapstick sticks. One's chapstick medicated, and one is carmex
2 tooth brushes, blue, and really nice. I figure they're probably inspectable, so he may want to throw them away fairly often, or give one to a buddy who needs it.
2 rolls of floss
4 travel size tooth pastes so he can share. Two are crest anti cavity, two colgate total.
1 tube of neosporin
1 travel case of bandaides and alchol wipes
4 travel cases of qtips [my husband is really anal about cleaning his ears. He honestly freaks out if he can't clean them like twice a day. And I figure he'd want to share]
3 bars of dial soap
2 boxes of blister bandaids [there's only like 6 in each!]
1 box clear bandaides that are waterproof
4 travel size pert shampoo/conditioner 2in1s
4 travel size axe shampoos
2 travel size tubs of vasaline [he gets bad nosebleeds, and that will help keep his nose moist.]
2 travel size lotions Jergens ultra healing
5 travel size deoderants. 3 of his oldspice brand, two degree plus. He may want to try a new kind, or just share them.
2 tooth brush covers that only cover the head of the tooth brush and are see through.
1 mini nail clipper because he's also anal about clipping his nails. I wasn't sure about this because it's sharp, right?
3 packages of disposable razors [they're inspectable so he throws one away after every use]
2 travel packs of wet ones anti bacterial wipes
8 travel packs of kleenex
2 travel size bottles of vicks early defence alcohol free hand sanitizer.
3 packages of sugar free Halls cough drops, all different flavors because he can share since everyone's sick.
3 packages sugar free Halls Defence Vitamin C drops. They're cough drops that are for keeping you healthy once you have gotten rid of your cough.
So how does this stuff sound? Should it all be okay? Or should I not send so much of everything all at once? What do you guys think?? Thank you so much!!! | | I am a current Drill SGT at FT Jackson, send your husband everything you have prohibited items are any food items, (they cant have food in the bay), alcohol in any form, (even swabs), any type of medication IE: prescription drugs or over the counter medication, Neosporin is ok, they are allowed to keep that. Any electronic devices are prohibited. Sometimes for the Soldiers here they cannot get money out for whatever reason and it is better to recieve these things from home versus purchasing them himself. Unless you get a specific answer from someone who is in charge there, dont make assumptions and short your husband. He wont be tortured for getting pens and pencils and stamps from his wife. If you arent currently in the ARMY i would be carefull of what you tell civillians about the way things are in the Military. |
